Who is Jason Smythe?

Jason is a proponent of the Blockchain revolution and Software Engineer from Cape Town. After graduating from the ConsenSys Academy he started working for the enterprise wing of ConsenSys as well as Adhara as a blockchain engineer. He contributed as an engineer to Project Khokha, a RTGS (real time gross settlement) system for the South African Reserve Bank (SARB). Project Khokha was a resounding success, handling the countries entire daily transaction volume in 2 hours with full confidentiality of transactions and settlement finality. This has laid the groundwork for many projects and collaborations that will revolutionize the banking industry. Prior to this he worked on a number of other early stage Ethereum project, including building the withdraw DAPP, monitoring system and oracle for the Crypto20 project, which was the first tokenised index fund to go into production on the main Ethereum network.

He is now working on Adhara.io, a real time, multi-currency global liquidity management and international payments platform based on tokenised money over a smart contract-enabled distributed ledger with a great team such as the ex- Head of R&D at Santander Bank and the ex- Managing Director of Deutsche Bank.

Jason is active in building the Ethereum Community, and has participated in a tour around Africa giving educational talks as well as pioneering the Istanbul Ethereum Meetup.
